We created a Word Cloud by analysing our guests’ feedback written in our Guestbook and reviews on TripAdvisor. This helped us see the words most frequently used to describe visits to Boulder Bay Eco Resort on Boulder Island and multi-day Island Safaris with our boat, the Sea Gypsy.
A Word Cloud shows text data where the size of each word indicates how often it was used. The colours are just for visual distinction and have no special meaning. We excluded common words like pronouns and prepositions to highlight the meaningful words that describe the resort, accommodations, food, staff, activities, and overall experience.
This Word Cloud indicates that guests frequently praised the “crew” and “staff” for their helpfulness and friendliness. The natural beauty of the “island” and its “beaches” is also a major highlight, with terms like “beautiful,” “amazing,” and “paradise” standing out. Guests appreciated the food, describing it as “delicious” and “wonderful.” Activities like “snorkeling” and “kayaking” were also well-received. Overall, the reviews suggest that guests had very positive, memorable experiences, often describing their stay as “great,” “excellent,” and “unforgettable.” The words “thank you” and “thanks” were very frequently mentioned.

Incredible experience – March 2024
We stayed at Boulder Bay Eco Resort for our honeymoon in Feb/March 2024. The resort is the only habitation on the island, and staying there was a wonderful and unique experience. The island itself is stunning, predominantly lush jungle full of bird life, and the bungalows are carefully designed for minimal impact. The reef around the island is beautiful, and the resort also acts as a base for regenerative marine biology projects. We snorkelled, kayaked, and hiked all around the island under the guidance of Kyaw Kyaw, our skilled and knowledgeable guide. The snorkelling and diving options were particularly amazing, and we saw many soft corals, colourful reef fish, baby sharks, starfish, and turtles. We also met a Moken family who moored in the bay in their traditional kabang boat, which was incredibly special. The food served at the resort was delicious, with a large variety of traditional Myanmar dishes. We are so grateful for the hospitality of Min Tun and all the resort staff, who went above and beyond to make our stay a special one. The resort arranged our transfer to and from Ranong and the process was easy. We can’t recommend Boulder Bay Eco Resort enough, it’s a truly magical place and an experience we will never forget.

Translated from German: Absolute dream island with natural white beaches – March 2024
We were allowed to spend 6 days / 7 nights on this beautiful Boulder Island and thanks to the crew, it felt like an (extraordinarily dreamy and luxurious) home from the beginning. Every wish was read from our lips, and even some that we didn’t know we had were fulfilled. The island has several beaches, all of which are stunningly beautiful. They are accessible on foot, but not all paths are easy to see, so it makes sense to have the paths shown to you the first time. In addition to beautiful colourful birds (probably rare, but not my specialty, so unfortunately we cannot name them), monitor lizards, green tree snakes, and, if you’re lucky, even pythons can be seen. Snorkelling and diving in the crystal clear water, you can see many colorful corals and huge schools of colorful fish. In the evening, we saw Black-Tip baby sharks chasing small fish in the shallow water. The care taken for this paradise is remarkable! All in all, a really wonderful experience, which is highly recommended!

A wonder site! – January 2024
With Mr Thayngar help and all the team, who enjoyed unforgettable days in this amazing place. Jojo was a wonderful scuba guide as well. Everyone was lovely and we dream of coming back. The visa and transfer was easy, enjoying the journey by boat. A needed project committed to preserve the environment.

Fabulous – November 2023
We spent at Boulder Island a magnificent 7D/6N stay, pampered by utmost attentive, friendly and helpful staff and our guide Zin Mi Latt. The island with its picturesque and romantic beaches is fabulous. The trails over the island interior go through really good primary forest. The alimentation surpasses every common fantasy in richness as well as in variety and refined presentation. On the whole, our stay was far above any expectation, even a very high one.

A Paradise Island Getaway! – September 2023
I just returned after spending 25 blissful days at Boulder Bay Eco Resort. This was a truly life-changing experience. I’ve been to nearly every island in Thailand with tourist accommodations, and they all have two things in common: multiple resorts and the constant noisy longtail boats from dawn to dusk. There’s never really a peaceful moment.
Boulder Island, 85 km west of the mainland, is different. With just one small eco resort and no shops or roads, it remains completely unspoiled. The beaches are pristine with no boat traffic – even fishing boats are rare sights.
The 8 idyllic beaches felt like my own private paradise beaches. The waters are crystal clear turquoise, the sands white and clean. If you spot any washed-up plastic, please pick it up and dispose properly to preserve this island nirvana.
The friendly jungle invites exploration, snorkelling and diving are incredible, the staff is wonderful, the food delicious, and the bungalows are beachfront perfection. Even the resident python who sometimes appears is considered good luck! This place is heaven on earth.
If you want a true island escape, stay at Boulder Bay Eco Resort. Thanks to the awesome staff for an unforgettable experience!

Extraordinary – March 2020
We booked to stay on Boulder for 3 weeks, it was at the end of an amazing tour through Australia + Sri Lanka to celebrate our birthdays. We had to leave prematurely due to the Covid virus….very sad. Had we not left we might be still there. But sometimes one has to do the sensible thing and follow your head not your heart. If you are looking for something very different and that ticks all the plus boxes all the boxes. From the wonderful people that looked after us to the island and the sense of remoteness that you experience.. Had we stayed 3 weeks I’m not sure I would have ever come home. We celebrated St Patrick’s day there with everyone joining in…
We may go back 😉 hope the virus passed u by.

Dear Sea Gypsy Crew),
We would like to say THANK YOU for that great trip! It was an amazing experience and the highlight of our Myanmar vacation! We will never forget the sunny beaches, the delicious food and snacks, our snorkelling and kayaking trips and last but not least the fire on the beach and our little party.

It was an incredible trip to say the least. The whole crew was very helpful, well prepared for anything and made us laugh more than once. Special thanks to the cook who strived for excellence and which was often achieved. The boat is extremely comfortable and clean, mostly because of the perfect crew who did everything in their power to make this trip as memorable as possible. I cannot think of a better way to end our time in beautiful Myanmar. I could go on all day so I’ll just say this: Thank you very much for the incredible experience!!!

Tina and I feel very privileged to have spent some time in the beautiful Myeik Archipelago. We loved our 5 days aboard the Sea Gypsy and in fact would have loved to have stayed on board a lot longer! We are very sad to leave. It was a delight to spend time with all of the very lovely, attentive crew. Felt blessed to have met some Moken people, as it like shaking hands with history. We are already planning our next trip!
Thank you so much for everything!

Thanks very much Sea Gypsy team for an outstanding cruise. Every little thing was taken care of and it was obvious a lot of thought has gone into the running of the boat. The team were very attentive and even when the weather was a bit crazy they tried to make us as comfortable as possible. We were taken to some great locations by our guide who was also extremely accommodating and went out of his way to find some top snorkelling spots. Thanks Jo Jo. Would definitely recommend this cruise to others.
Thanks guys,

We loved to stay 7 days on board of this nice ship with a lot of atmosphere and an attentive crew. Our expectations to see an unspoiled nature and meet some Moken people have been fulfilled by 100%. We would like to thank the crew and our tour guide Jojo for their warm welcome and their support on all kind of activities. We had a lot of fun with the other three guests together with the team and we’ll recommend you to our friends at home in Germany!
Thanks guys!

The trip exceeded our expectations. All the locations were great and there was a great balance between ship time and shore activities. The level of service was exceptional to the point of being embarrassing as the crew insisted on doing everything for us even preparing fresh fish for us. The Sea Gypsy had highlights such as a homemade breakfast served on a good beach snorkeling was special but it would be hard to find even better words as this is a very memorable trip.
